LRE is a continuum. Not a default.

IDEA requires schools to maintain a full range of placement options — from general education to specialized day programs to residential settings. The IEP team picks the right one for that student. Full stop.

Real Inclusion

Inclusion is not a location. It is belonging.

For IEP Teams

The right questions to ask

Can this setting provide the intensity of support this student actually needs?
What supplementary aids have been tried, and what happened?
Is this placement safe for the student, their peers, and the staff?

Document everything. Review regularly. No placement is permanent.
