Inclusive Leadership Lab builds the systems that help special educators do their jobs well and help directors support them at scale. Our work spans IEP Builder, job-embedded coaching, and a Registered Apprenticeship pathway to a national certification, all grounded in real district practice rather than another compliance form.

Careers at the Lab
Lab Specialist, Leadership Apprenticeship
The Lab Specialist owns the development and delivery of The Leadership Apprenticeship, by The Lab, our Registered Apprenticeship pathway to a national certification. This person builds curriculum, facilitates cohorts, and supports apprentices with job-embedded coaching from enrollment through completion.
What you will do
- Develop and refine apprenticeship curriculum aligned to the competencies embedded in the national certification pathway.
- Facilitate cohort sessions, coaching cycles, and job-embedded learning experiences for apprentices.
- Track apprentice progress against Registered Apprenticeship requirements and maintain accurate completion records.
- Partner on scope and sequence for each cohort, incorporating feedback from prior cohorts.
- Coordinate mentor and preceptor relationships for apprentices completing fieldwork.
- Lead onboarding for incoming apprentices.
- Monitor outcomes across our four measurement domains: baseline knowledge, engagement, application, and impact.
- Maintain the compliance documentation required to sustain Registered Apprenticeship status.
What you bring
- Experience in special education leadership, teacher preparation, or adult learning design.
- Familiarity with competency-based professional learning models.
- Strong facilitation skills with adult learners, including experience leading cohort-based programs.
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in special education, educational leadership, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience as a special education director, coach, or administrator preferred.
Implementation Specialist, IEP Builder
The Implementation Specialist owns onboarding and ongoing support for districts implementing IEP Builder, by The Lab. This person guides clients from contract signature through full adoption and serves as the primary point of contact for implementation questions, training, and troubleshooting.
What you will do
- Lead onboarding for new district clients, including account setup, data migration, and initial training.
- Build and deliver training sessions for administrators, case managers, and educators using IEP Builder.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client questions during and after implementation.
- Monitor client usage and proactively identify districts that need additional support.
- Document technical issues, escalate them to the product team, and follow through to resolution.
- Track implementation milestones and client health indicators, and report status to leadership.
- Gather client feedback to inform product improvements and training materials.
- Support renewal conversations by demonstrating client outcomes and platform value.
What you bring
- Experience in special education administration, case management, or IEP or student information system support.
- Working knowledge of IDEA, FAPE, and IEP documentation requirements.
- Strong training and communication skills with adult learners.
- Bachelor's degree required; special education background strongly preferred.
- Prior experience with education technology implementation preferred.
Impact Expander
The Impact Expander owns new business development across the Lab's product suite: IEP Builder, the Coaching Portal, and The Leadership Apprenticeship. This person builds and runs the pipeline that turns district conversations into signed partnerships, working closely with the Director of Impact and Innovation and with the Implementation Specialist on a clean handoff once a deal closes.
What you will do
- Build and manage a pipeline of qualified district and organization leads across the Lab's product suite.
- Lead discovery calls and platform walkthroughs with special education directors, superintendents, and other decision-makers.
- Develop and run outbound prospecting: cold outreach, conference follow-up, and referral partner development.
- Negotiate and close new business, working with leadership on pricing and contract terms.
- Represent the Lab at conferences and tradeshows, building relationships with prospective district partners.
- Maintain accurate pipeline and forecast data in the Lab's CRM.
- Partner with marketing to refine messaging and identify high-fit prospects.
- Support renewal and expansion conversations alongside the Implementation Specialist.
What you bring
- Five or more years of sales experience in edtech, with a track record of closing new business with school districts or educational organizations.
- Experience navigating multi-stakeholder, longer-cycle K-12 or public sector sales processes.
- Special education background, or experience selling into special education departments, is a plus.
- Strong discovery and consultative selling skills, comfortable with an evidence-based approach rather than pressure tactics.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Willingness to travel for conferences and district visits.
